- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups white rice
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 cup raisins
Melt butter over moderate heat in heavy pot. Add rice and stir to coat. Add cinnamon, salt, turmeric, and 2 cups water. Bring to boil, cover and simmer 25 min until water is absorbed and rice is tender. Remove cinnamon. Stir in raisins and heat for another minute or so before serving. Serves 4-6.
