Serves 8
- ½ cup minced onion
- ½ cup minced celery
- ½ cup minced green pepper
- 1½ lbs ground beef
- ½ cup chopped mushroom (optional)
- ½ cup chili sauce (or to taste) see recipe below
- salt and pepper to taste
Sauté veggies (except mushrooms) in oil. Add beef. Cook until just done. Drain. Add mushrooms. Add chili sauce. Simmer 15 min.
Chili Sauce
- 1 pint. Ketchup
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- pinch nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
- ¼ teaspoon ginger
- pinch cayenne
Combine all ingredients in small bowl. Whisk thoroughly. Refrigerate.
