O'Henry's Brownies

  • ½ c butter
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 eggs, room temp
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 325. Melt in double boiler, butter and chocolate. Cool this mixture. If not brownies will be heavy and dry. Beat eggs and salt until foamy. Continue beating, add sugar and vanilla. Beat until well creamed. Fold in cooled chocolate mixture. Fold by hand, a few strokes only. Fold in flour and cinnamon. Gently fold in pecans. Bake in 9x13 pan 25 minutes. Do not over bake. Allow to cool before cutting (several hours).
